The NouLou Chamber Players
The NouLou Chamber Players is a vibrant ensemble bringing together some of Louisville’s elite classical musicians to provide exceptional music making. The Parlor Series is dedicated to performing in intimate settings the way chamber music was meant to be enjoyed. Their partnership with Oxmoor Farm brings together life traditions in chamber music performance, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
On Sunday, August 29, 2021 the NouLou Chamber Players proudly present a special one-night only performance of Mahler’s celestially beautiful Symphony No. 4 (arranged for large chamber ensemble) featuring Louisville Orchestra concertmaster Gabriel Lefkowitz as conductor, University of Louisville vocal faculty Emily Albrink as soprano soloist, and the indelible talents of your beloved NouLou Chamber Players.
“We hope you’ll join us for a truly magnificent and unique event within Louisville’s cultural landscape! This one-of-a-kind performance features the most intimate and endearing of all Gustav Mahler’s symphonic masterpieces, performed by a 15-piece chamber ensemble at the stunning Library at Oxmoor Farm. The evening will follow a tradition established 100 years ago in Vienna by the Society for Private Musical Performances, which often presented orchestral works by giants such as Mahler, Strauss, and Berg, arranged for chamber ensembles comprising some of the greatest musicians living in the city at that time. Your support helps ensure the success and viability of this bold, unprecedented undertaking. We can’t do it without you so please join us in this exciting endeavor to help make Louisville the home and champion for the arts that it is!”
