We wish to acknowledge that this area of Kentucky, including the Oxmoor Farm property, was at one time occupied by the indigenous people that lived in the Ohio Valley region, namely the Iroquois, Shawnee, and Chickasaw tribes. Oxmoor is also one of many farms in the Louisville area where slavery existed in the years before the Civil War. From 1787 to 1865 Oxmoor was home to the Bullitt family as well as enslaved men and women. Today, the site interprets the story of a Kentucky farm that has transformed along with the state from its colonial beginning to present day. Oxmoor Farm strives to tell the story of all people who lived and worked on this land and at Oxmoor through preservation and education. Oxmoor Farm asks guests using the property to respect the memories and lives of all who came before us.

Oxmoor Farm Foundation values the health and safety of all of our visitors, volunteers and staff, and fully supports the evolving state and national effort to control COVID-19. In light of this health crisis, we postponed our annual music series, which has been rescheduled for 2021 and we're working on new outdoor events where we can safely social distance. We are open for tours by appointment. Check our website for further details. This remains a challenging time for all of us and we look forward to welcoming you back to Oxmoor Farm.
